Brighton Cattle Fair begins.

(Oct.) [1818] The annual fair is held on the grounds of Agricultural Hill, near the top of today’s Dighton Street. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Society for Promoting Agriculture, it becomes the permanent site for the annual event in October 1818 and continues until 1835.*
